Mike Beatty and his sons are continuing a legacy of farming established by their ancestors in Ohio following the Revolutionary War.  After studying biology at Stanford and working in the scientific equipment industry, Mike moved out of the San Francisco Bay Area to Napa Valley in order to pursue the agricultural lifestyle of his roots.  Passionate about this lifestyle, he leveraged his education and skills towards a focus on vineyards and desire to produce the highest quality grapes.   Without access to UC Davis extension and online classes at the time, Mike purchased the viticulture students’ textbooks and taught himself the trade.  The family has continuously kept residence on the property since the 1970s, and now his sons are in the agriculture business and contribute to the operation.  Pat lives on the property and works in the vineyards, while JR is a chemical/nutrient consultant.
