As a Howell Mountain winery, Howell Mountain Vineyards has been no small contributor to the reputation of this mountain, being one of the first wineries since the region’s revival post-prohibition.  Being a Howell Mountain winery, our wines and others have a stellar reputation worldwide for producing intense Zinfandels and big, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon.  Over the last several decades, Howell Mountain Vineyards has been led by notable winemakers including James Hall (Patz & Hall), Ted Lemon (Littorai), and Dave Phinney, known for his wine The Prisoner(Orin Swift), and is currently led by winemaker Bryan Kane (Sol Rouge and The Winery SF), who was recently named one of the "Next Generation Cult Winemakers" by Somm Journal.
